A Guide to Gaming Industry Observer

Our Mission:
Gaming Industry Observer was founded in 1996 by Michael Pollock, a veteran regulator, journalist and analyst, to dissect and project important trends in the casino industry. Our goal was to marry the principles of professional journalism to a trade publication, focusing on unbiased, in-depth analysis that would help executives, regulators, suppliers, investors and others improve their understanding of the casino industry. We neither accept advertising nor engage in alliances with the companies or individuals we cover. Our goal is to provide analysis that is accurate, fair and actionable.

Our Track Record:
In our first year of publication, we received first place honors for editorial excellence from the Newsletter and Electronic Publishers Foundation, competing against publications in virtually every industry. We have since been honored three times from that prestigious foundation. No other trade publication focusing on casinos has received such an honor, even one time. We received four such honors in our first decade of publication.

Along the way, we have received numerous accolades.

"Michael Pollock's Gaming Industry Observer is unique for its analytical focus and for the wealth of information that it presents in a concise fashion." - Timothy Wilmott, Chief Operating Officer, Harrah's Entertainment.

"Not only are the articles exceptionally well written and informative, but the statistical data are extremely useful." &nda sh; Frank Fahrenkopf, President and CEO, American Gaming Association.
