Consultants said the Provence will generate $439 million in gaming revenue almost half of which, or $219 million, would be new gaming revenue from a new customer base. That would be $103 million more than other applicants, said Scott Fisher, a consultant for Spectrum Gaming Group.

A handful of other major cities, such as New Orleans and Detroit, have downtown casinos, which have shown mixed results. Michael Pollock, another consultant for Spectrum, said, “None offer the breadth of non-gaming activities as The Provence.”
