One analyst warned Tuesday that New Jersey would risk undermining investor confidence in Atlantic City if it did not continue the practice of releasing casino revenue figures on a monthly basis and the industry's gross operating profits every quarter.

"Since the inception of gaming, New Jersey has been the global leader in transparency in the reporting of information. While we don't know how this will ultimately shake out under the new regulations, there is a potential for New Jersey to become more opaque," said Joseph Weinert, senior vice president of Spectrum Gaming Group, a casino consulting firm based in Linwood.
