With Lumiere sale, Pinnacle bets on St. Charles, St. Louis counties

Pinnacle is smart to sell the downtown complex, rather than River City, said Rob Heller, chief executive of Spectrum Gaming Capital, a gaming industry consulting firm in New York. He pointed out that River City, which posted $18.2 million in net gambling revenue last month, and the Ameristar casino in St. Charles, which saw $21.5 million last month, are in much larger population areas than downtown St. Louis, where Lumiere Place reported $14 million revenue in May.
